McDonalds Monopoly Game - What You Need To Know

hamburglr

Yes it's true that McDonalds isn't the healthiest place to eat.  Still if you've watched any sports or television in the U.S. this past week, you've likely seen the ads for the latest McDonalds Monopoly Game.  Not long ago there was a stink about the game being rigged, but it seems it's on the up-and-up now.  So for those of you who like me stop by McDonalds from time-to-time and want to geek-out the game and be prepared with the tools and knowledge you need in case you're one of the extremely few who win anything worthwhile, well read on.

The Wisebread blog last week outlined the number of valuable pieces available to win for each color.  These are only the rare pieces like Ventnor Avenue, not the other ones that everyone usually finds in their high-fat meals.

As you can see, I didn't have much luck at my one visit to McDonalds today.  And my "premium," grilled, chicken sandwich was ruined with too much mayonnaise also!

Here's a chart listing the important game pieces, the value and how many are available in the U.S.

COLOR PRIZE NAME # OF PIECES
Dark Blue $1M Boardwalk 3
Green $50,000 Pennsylvania Ave 5
Yellow $25,000 Ventnor Ave. 5
Red $10,000 Kentucky Ave. 30
Orange $5,000 Tennessee Ave. 50
Fuschia $1,000 Virginia Ave. 250
Light Blue $500 Vermont Ave. 250
Black $100 Short Line 1,500
Purple $50 Mediterranean Ave. 15,000

Also important, don't forget to go to the online McDonalds site, register and play their online game for a few more chances to win something.  You never know...

So with that information, you now know what pieces to keep and which ones you won't worry about losing in the trash.  You'd be better off skipping those McDonalds meals, but if you'd rather try your hand at Monopoly the Mickey D's way, you have the facts and know how bad the odds are.

By the way, the McDonalds Monopoly official website doesn't seem to work too well with the Firefox browser - go figure.  Looks like a failure in technology for them....
