It’s here… our new year of 2012 along with some new TV premieres. I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume most of you have DVRs or HTPCs to tell you when your favorite TV series are returning from holiday break and we’ll focus on the new premieres, finales and specials as we always do.

Tuesday, January 3
The Biggest Loser (8pm on NBC) Season 13 premiere
Work It (8:30pm on ABC) New sitcom series that has been getting a lot of bad press due to the cross dressing theme. Synopsis: Two guys decide to dress and act as women during the daytime in order to keep jobs as pharmaceutical reps turn into their normal selves at night when they hang out together at their local bar.
Celebrity Wife Swap (9pm on ABC) New reality spinoff series. First episode goes like this: Gayle Haggard, wife of former TV evangelist Ted Haggard, trades lives with Steffanie Sampson, who is engaged to actor Gary Busey and rejects organized religion.
Jane by Design (9pm on ABC Family) New comedy series. Synopsis: Jane is a 16-year-old high school outsider who lives a double life as a 20-something design assistant in the corporate world. Stars Andi MacDowell
Jamie’s American Road Trip (10pm on BBCA) New cooking/travel series with Jamie Oliver hosting
Campus PD (10pm on G4) Season 4 premiere
Antiques Roadshow (10pm on PBS) Season premiere

Masterpiece Classic (9pm on PBS) Season premiere
Ax Men (9pm on History) Season 5 premiere
Shameless (9pm on Showtime) Season 2 premiere
House of Lies (10pm on Showtime) New comedy series starring Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell. Synopsis: Set in the world of corporate management consulting, Marty & the Pod travel to a New York bank looking for a plan to justify their year-end bonuses. The series is based on the book House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time by Martin Kihn.

Rob (8:31pm on CBS) New sitcom series written by and starring Rob Schneider. Cheech Marin also stars. First episode synopsis: Rob meets his new wife's large Mexican-American family for the first time and notices he doesn't quite fit in.
The Finder (9pm on Fox) New drama series. This is a spinoff of the popular series Bones that will star Geoff Stults who plays a military-trained guy who finds people no one else can in the Florida Keys.
Friday, January 13
Sweet Home Alabama (9pm on CMT) Season 3 premiere
Real Time With Bill Maher (10pm on HBO) Season 10 premiere
Blade (11pm on G4) New horror/fantasy series
Saturday, January 14
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (9pm on ABC) this season 9 finale finishes with part 2 of the Joplin Tornado Families episode. This will be the series finale as well
