A smallish lineup of posts again this week, but I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel from my work-life. Thats good news for GeekTonic as I should begin ramping up the meaty content here with a lot more news, how-to's and other great content. In case you missed anything from the past week, here is a summary of the past week's news and stories on GeekTonic.
Week In Review:
- MediaPortal HTPC Software Releases 1.0.1 - MediaPortal releases an update to their HTPC software with lots of stability and usability goodness. They're also working on the next version of 1.x as well as the next evolution of MedaPortal which will be 2.x
- Media Gadget Showcase - Suresh's Home Theater - Another great entry in the "Media Gadget Nirvana" series. If you haven't already, submit your photos and writup about your own setup now. I'm looking for simple setups, elaborate setups, cool and ugly setups it doesn't matter! It's fun and educational for everyone plus you can win free stuff just by sharing! Learn more here
- Final Episodes of Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money - Starting May 30th these three "abandoned" ABC series will get their last hurrah.
- Is Windows 7 Release Candidate on BitTorrent? - I got heck from one commenter for reporting that a new build of Windows 7 was available on the torrents (as were nearly all other builds) but I think its newsworthy enough to report it. Don't install this version as an update to an older version. All builds of Windows 7 should be installed as fresh installs knowing they are betas that could bork up your system.
- Deal of the Day - Seagate 1TB $80 - A very nice hard drive deal indeed.
- The Media Center Show Hits #200 - One of my favorite podcasts hits 200 with a very enjoyable and interesting HTPC show.
- Easily Change SageTV Registry Settings with GUI Tool - Andy (babgvant) has made a very useful user interface for changing SageTV settings.
- Your SageTV now Tweets Too - Introducing SageTweet - My Home Theater PC now tweets about the shows we watch as well as what the server is up to. Great tool for the twitter/HTPC fanatic.
- TV Premieres: What To Watch April 5 - 11 - lots of new shows this week.
- SageMC 3rd Party App Releases 6.3.9 – FanArt Improvements and more - A very nice update to my all-time favorite add-on for SageTV
