The Fall 2011 TV Season is nearly upon us. To get things started GeekTonic is running through all of the new TV series coming this Fall. The past few days we’ve covered the new shows on CBS, new series on FOX, and now we move on to NBC’s new series.
Other Network Premieres Covered:
Free Agents – Wednesday, 9/14 on NBC 10:30pm
A new comedy series from NBC borrowed from the original U.K. version.
TV.com synopsis: Alex is recently divorced, and Helen lost her fiancé a year ago. They are not ready to date but end up in bed together, and they work together! They decide to stay friends and help each other find their way towards love again.

Grimm – Friday, 10/21 on NBC 9pm
A new sci-fi drama from NBC that has an intriguing concept, but I don’t give it much hope. Unfortunately they have it matched up with Fringe and Supernatural – in similar formats at the same timeslots. Not a good way to introduce a new show especially on a Friday. Grimm was originally slated to be a mid-season replacement last year and never made it out so the network obviously doesn’t have a high opinion of it already.
TV.com synopsis: This cop drama will incorporate stories from Grimm's Fairy Tales. A cop named Nick (played by David Giuntoli) starts seeing humans as animals and wants to protect society from them. Russell Hornsby is set to play Nick's partner and Tulloch his love interest.

The Playboy Club – Monday, 9/19 on NBC 10pm
A new drama from NBC that is getting attention just from the title.
TV.com synopsis: Set in 1963, Maureen joins the Chicago based Playboy Club as one of it's beautiful Bunnies. She is determined, bold, sexy and filled with ambition. During her first night of work she is introduced to Nick Dalton, a dashing handsome lawyer, who helps her when she kills a member of the mafia by accident.

Prime Suspect – Thursday, 9/22 on NBC 10pm
A new suspense drama series from NBC.
TV.com synopsis: This show is remake of the popular UK series that aired between 1991 and 2006. It is about Det. Jane Timoney, a homicide investigator who has trouble dealing with her taxing job at a new precinct and her personal life. Prime Suspect is produced by Universal Media Studios and ITV. Hank Steinberg ("Without a Trace") and Erwin Stoff ("The Blind Side") are the executive producers.

Smash – Monday, 2/6/2012 on NBC 10pm
Not really a Fall 2011 premiere, but notable as a musical/family drama with Steven Spielberg’s backing. This is not Glee really, but Glee probably helped get this idea through the network. Looks interesting.
TV.com synopsis: NBC picked up this musical-centric series about the making of a Broadway play from Steven Spielberg. Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman have signed onto write the original songs.
